I watch them play,
Two hopping love bombs.
Tick, they go
Till mommy hollars
And they explode.
Not an understanding glance,
But my betrayal to innocence.
I watch as their pure life bruises,
Just as mine was pierced some years ago.
I watch the cycle go-
Slipping into insanity.
Is it worth the strength to break free-
As my desperate hands grip tight the restraints,
Infused from generations before me.
A puff, I inhale that artificial joy.
Exhale, it snickers as it leaves.
Cause it’s just another distraction,
And I the sleez.
